LOS ANGELES, Jan. 3, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Faces & Voices of Recovery is launching the California Recovery Ambassador Initiative to engage people who have survived alcohol and other addiction and are thriving in their recovery journey, as well as family members, friends and allies in the treatment community, to become part of the solution to the opioid epidemic. Recovery ambassadors are advocates for greater access to treatment and eliminating the stigma and discrimination faced by people impacted by addiction. Since 2001, Faces & Voices of Recovery, a national grassroots advocacy organization based in Washington, D.C., has been working to address the stigma that keeps many families from seeking help and demonstrate that long-term recovery is possible.
