"The 110th Congress is keeping faith with our veterans not only in words, but action. Earlier this year, we passed the largest veterans' health care funding increase in the 77-year history of the Department of Veterans Affairs. Yesterday, we took another critical step in honoring both the service and the sacrifice of our troops and their families.
"The House approved an expansion of the Family and Medical Leave Act to include the family members of wounded veterans. Under this expansion, family members would be able to take up to six months of unpaid leave from their jobs to care for injured veterans, no longer having to choose between keeping their job and caring for a loved one.
