SANTA ROSA, Calif., Aug. 18, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- On October 8 2017, Sonoma

County suffered the worst wildfire in California history. The Tubbs Fire was an unprecedented natural disaster that created an unusual and extremely difficult circumstance for residents across the San Francisco North Bay. In the middle of the night, the Tubbs Fire overtook the Santa Rosa community. Over 5,000 structures were completely destroyed, including most of the residential and commercial properties in the Fountaingrove neighborhood, where four Oakmont Senior Living communities are located.

In response to the Tubbs Fire and in partnership with emergency officials, residents and residents' family members, Oakmont Senior Living employees successfully evacuated over 400 of its senior residents residing at Santa Rosa communities in the Fountaingrove neighborhood and safely relocated them to suitable temporary accommodations while repairs and restoration took place. Four Oakmont Senior Living communities, Varenna, Villa Capri, Fountaingrove Lodge and The Terraces, were directly impacted by the Tubbs Fire, and Villa Capri was unfortunately destroyed.
