This partnership combines Lyft's mission to improve people's lives with the world's best transportation with Oak Street Health's focus on increasing access to care by offering patients who qualify rides to and from appointments.
With four centers in Indianapolis, Oak Street Health addresses many of the critical gaps in healthcare by offering services that go beyond a traditional primary care provider. Oak Street Health already offers complimentary transportation to and from appointments with its fleet of green vans, which are used by more than half of Oak Street Health's patients in Indianapolis. When vans are in high demand or patients require added attention and time, Oak Street Health's Indianapolis center employees can schedule a ride through this partnership with Lyft.

Since beginning a pilot program in early September, Lyft has helped many Oak Street Health patients get to and from their appointments, with more than 100 patients using the service in January alone. Patients were enthusiastic about the pilot program, reporting that simple and easy transportation eased any concerns about being able to get to their scheduled appointment on time and set the tone for a great primary care experience.
