Enrollment is now open for local associate and bachelor nursing degree programs.

CASPER, Wyo., April 15, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ --áNightingale College, a fully accredited distance learning nursing

school, is pleased to announce the opening of its new blended-distance associate and bachelor's degree nursing programs in Casper, Wyoming. Enrollment is now open for the Fall Semester.

According to a recent KUNC report, the nationwide nursing shortage will especially impact the mountain west due to limited space at traditional higher education institutions. The American Nursing Association estimates the need for 1 million new nurses by the year 2022. As a nation, the U.S. is fast approaching a time of critical importance for nurse staffing. To further complicate the issue, the average nurse is age 50 or older. Who will be there to care for the nurses who are lost to attrition?

Nightingale College recognizes the urgent need for nurses and has pioneered a new approach to distance learning through an innovative Dedicated Distance Cohort (DDC) Model. This unique approach combines online coursework with hands-on experiential learning at partner facilities to train the next generation of nursing professionals.

Shepherd of the Valley Rehabilitation and Wellness has partnered with Nightingale College to dedicate space for an experiential learning hub, where learners practice hands-on nursing skills. Other DDC partners include Summit Medical Center, Wyoming Behavioral Institute, and Life Care Center of Casper.

"Our partners have made it possible for potential nurses to immediately access nursing education," said Jonathan Tanner, Vice President of Partnerships & Business Development for Nightingale College. "This approach benefits local health care facilities by familiarizing their future nurses with the facility's health care professionals and systems."

Nightingale College offers a 20-month Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) Program and a 32-month Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Program in Casper. Both programs use a blended-distance learning model and are designed for immediate access with three starts per year. The first start in Casper will be Sep. 2, 2019. The deadline to apply is Aug. 1, 2019.

Nightingale College also offers a statewide, 100 percent online, 12-month RN-to-BSN Program, designed specifically for working nurses. Wyoming is one of 13 states approved to deliver Nightingale College's accredited RN-to-BSN degree.
