The results of the prenatal paternity test are also accurate as any other DNA test. Specialists who excel in this field conduct the tests. The method of obtaining the sample depends upon the stage of pregnancy. A prenatal paternity test is the method to identify whether a man is a baby’s father or not before the baby is born. The test can be invasive and non invasive. A baby inherits DNA from both the parents. A simple DNA test can find out and identify if a man is the father of the baby or not. You just need to submit the sample of the unborn baby’s DNA and the fathers DNA. If the test is for peace of mind then the sample can be collected by a swab. If the tests are for legal purposes then a standard procedure needs to be followed. To test the DNA of the unborn child the fluid from the womb which is called the amniotic fluid is collected with the consent of the mother. This contains the cells from the baby. The tissue from the placenta can also be collected. The sample of the amniotic fluid is collected by inserting a needle through the abdomen. This method is called amniocentesis. While the collection of tissue from placenta is done by passing the needle through the walls of the abdomen or passing a tube through the vagina and neck of the womb. This method is called the chrionic villus sampling. You must consult an expert before getting the test done.
