WHAT: The Ernest N. Morial Convention Center is being transformed into the nation's largest doctors' office for the two-day, massive free clinic for the uninsured sponsored by the National Association of Free Clinics (NAFC) on Tuesday, Aug. 31, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Wednesday, Sept. 1, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

WHO: Officials from the National Association of Free Clinics and hundreds of volunteers. NAFC Executive Director Nicole Lamoureux and others are available for interviews.

WHERE: Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, 900 Convention Center Blvd., Hall J

WHEN: Monday, August 30, 2010, from noon to 8:00 p.m., and Tuesday, August 31, 2010, from 6:00 a.m. to noon. If you want to do a live shot for TV, please contact us to make arrangements.

WHY: The clinic will provide basic primary and preventive care to uninsured people from the New Orleans area. Last year, more than 1,000 uninsured people attended a one-day clinic in the same location. The patients will be connected with free clinics and other safety-net providers in the area.
