Using sensors and software, the AutoFALL pendant can detect a fall, and signal the medical alert console to initiate a call to the emergency response center.

"Thousands of seniors fall in their own homes every year, often with tragic consequences," said Bryan Stapp, President of Medical Care Alert. "An automatic fall detection pendant provides an additional layer of security and protection, in the event the wearer falls and is unable to press the button themselves."

How Automatic Fall Detection Works

The AutoFALL Automatic Fall Detection sensor is worn as a pendant around the neck, close to the chest.  Unlike a traditional medical alert system that requires the user to press a button, the automatic fall detection pendant uses sensors and software to detect movement. If the pendant detects a fall pattern, it automatically signals the console to initiate a call to the emergency response center.

"The fall detection algorithm technology has improved tremendously over the past few years, reducing the number of false alarms," said Stapp.

AutoFALL for HOME and HOME-3G Medical Alert Systems

The AutoFALL pendant works with new and existing HOME and HOME-3G medical alert systems. New HOME systems with AutoFALL Pendant start at $36.62 a month. Users can add an AutoFALL pendant for just $10.00 a month to their existing plan.

Automatic Fall detection is also an available feature of the popular HOME & AWAY ELITE Mobile Medical Alert System with GPS.

As no automatic fall detection systems can accurately detect 100% of falls, users are encouraged to press their button in the event of a fall or other emergency if they are able to.

The Next Generation Of Medical Alert Systems

The AutoFALL automatic fall detection pendant release follows the launch of the innovative HOME & AWAY ELITE mobile medical alert system with GPS. Medical Care Alert extends its leadership, providing modern technology with award winning customer service to seniors in all 50 states. The company recently received the Angie's List "Super Service Award" for the fourth consecutive year, and its monitoring center was named the "2016 Central Station Of The Year" by the CSAA industry association.
