Nature Bright's SunFrame has become part of Purdue Univ. Recreation Center's Mindfullness with Light program

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., Oct. 15, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Purdue University has a campus recreation center filled with

fitness equipment, group exercise studios, basketball courts, a climbing wall, and much more. But developing a balanced, healthy lifestyle for students and staff involves more than just physical activity. According to Tammy Loew, Senior Assistant Director for Purdue Recreation and Wellness, providing programs that focus on overall wellness aligns with the department's central mission and comprehensive approach. The center is recognized as a leader in the development of individual pursuit of lifelong wellness.

Mindfulness series with light This fall, the Mindfulness Series will cover wellness topics including stress reduction methods, yoga, meditation, and mindful eating. One of the more unique offerings at Purdue's recreation center is a designated room where light therapy is performed to treat seasonal affective disorder (SAD). The light therapy room exposes people to artificial therapeutic light. "Wellness programs and services promote holistic wellness and positive health behaviors," said Loew. "This fits very well within the vision of Purdue Recreation and Wellness."

Relaxed Meditation with Style The Nature Bright's SunFrame is a breakthrough in light therapy that illuminates artwork with a changing continuum of light. Its large size (40 x 30 in) and dazzling brightness (10,000 LUX) are enough to make it stand out from the competition. Unlike other light therapy devices, the SunFrame can illuminate large spaces and support the circadian rhythms of entire groups of people. The SunFrame is revolutionary due to its ability to mimic natural sunlight. NatureBright Company has partnered with researchers at Duke University to develop the SunFrame's SkyEffect technology, which slowly shifts from energizing blue light in the morning to calming red light in the evening. The result is true human-centric lighting.
