T.E.A. Talk offers a platform for women of color to discuss a range of health issues such as heart disease, diabetes, HIV/AIDS, stress, and fitness. With messages stressing prevention first, this interactive forum encourages women to be more informed about health issues. The program is a step towards developing a health and wellness action plan.

"T.E.A. Talk is more than a forum about living a healthier lifestyle," said Willarda V. Edwards, M.D., M.B.A., president of the National Medical Association. "It is about turning health education into action because women of color, particularly African American women, are suffering disproportionately from preventable diseases. If more African American women adopt a wellness lifestyle it will reduce the risk of premature death from preventable, lifestyle-related diseases."

The event is free. Free health screenings will begin at 12:30 p.m. followed by afternoon tea. The interactive forum, the final portion of the program, begins promptly at 1 p.m.
