NEW YORK, Aug. 8, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- NODE.Health (Network of Digital Evidence in Health), the leading professional association focused on bringing evidence-based medicine practices to digital health, announces today that it has been granted 501(c)(3) non-profit status by the IRS.
The organization was founded in 2016 by a consortium of health systems led by Mount Sinai Chief Innovation Officer in Medicine, Dr. Ashish Atreja, to bring together all key stakeholders involved in digital innovation and transformation in healthcare. Since then it has grown to include 50+ health systems, payers, national societies, life sciences, public health agencies, tech industry, VCs and other key industry stakeholders. To support knowledge sharing among its members, NODE.Health organizes monthly learning sessions, peer-reviewed newsletter (Evidence Pulse), journal publications, the annual Digital Medicine Conference in December in New York City.
Non-profit status is essential for the mission of NODE.Health to serve as an independent academic research organization (ARO) dedicated to the advancement of digital medicine through unbiased, evidence based validation of startups and knowledge sharing among healthcare organizations. NODE.Health is working to help the industry develop trust in digital solutions and identify efficacious digital interventions by serving as a reliable, independent resource of knowledge, partnerships and validated solutions. NODE.Health has completed a number of studies in 2019 with more underway.

"Along with the formation of a diverse and experienced board, a passionate executive team as well as the hiring of researchers and staff, we are making significant progress on our mission of creating evidence based digital medicine through studies on novel technologies and startups and and supporting transformation through executive knowledge sharing."
NODE.Health also announced the appointment of Dr. Ben Rosner, MD PhD as NODE.Health's Director of Clinical Research. Dr. Rosner is a digital health expert, practicing hospitalist, and founding member and prior CMIO of a prominent digital patient engagement company. He brings a deep understanding for research and clinical evidence with a PhD in engineering and a mathematical modeling background. Dr. Rosner will be responsible for validating startups and growing NODE.Health as an ARO.
