LEBANON, N.J., Dec. 11, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, every day, more

than 115 people in the United States die after overdosing on opioids. The misuse of and addiction to opioids—including prescription pain relievers, heroin, and synthetic opioids such as fentanyl—is a serious national crisis that affects public health as well as social and economic welfare.

All K Street Group Officers assigned to any student youth tour group, project high school graduation event, or adolescent celebration party will commence NARCAN training in January 2019. Officers will participate in a web-based training curriculum followed by a knowledge assessment quiz before becoming eligible to administer NARCAN in a suspected emergency opioid overdose situation.

NARCAN® (naloxone HCl) Nasal Spray is the first and only FDA-approved nasal form of naloxone for the emergency treatment of a known or suspected opioid overdose. NARCAN® Nasal Spray counteracts the life-threatening effects of an opioid overdose and is easily administered with no medical training required.
