Two leading organizations powered and founded by women join together to help promote body confidence through fitness

SAN FRANCISCO, May 8, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Movemeant Foundation, a nationally recognized non-profit organization, and Sweaty Betty, London's leading activewear brand, are joining to inspire women to find empowerment through fitness. Together, they will lead the country's largest body-positive fundraising events, "Dare to Bare" in both San Francisco and New York, and will also establish a joint scholarship program to provide at-risk girls with access to health programs that promote fitness as a platform to build positive body image and self-worth.

With as many as 60 percent of women of all body types reporting that they don't like the way their bodies look, negative body image and physical inactivity have grown to near epidemic proportions in the past 20 years.

"Together, Movemeant Foundation and Sweaty Betty are committed to empowering women to be active and use fitness as a way to find self-confidence, self-esteem and positive body image," says Jenny Gaither, Founder of Movemeant Foundation. "We're excited to work with Sweaty Betty to uncover and create new opportunities for mind body transformation that happens through active, healthful living."

"I am thrilled to partner with Movemeant Foundation," says Tamara Hill-Norton, Founder and Creative Director of Sweaty Betty. "Sweaty Betty is all about making women feel amazing and as a Mum of two daughters, I find it so empowering to see Jenny and her team working to increase female self-confidence, and together I feel we can help drive the message even further."

To kick off their partnership, Movemeant Foundation and Sweaty Betty are also announcing that registration is open for the 3rd Annual Dare to Bare in San Francisco on Saturday, May 20th. Each year, the event hosts thousands of participants and spectators who raise money by participating in inspiring, high-energy group fitness classes including SoulCycle, TRX and Bootcamps from the city's most acclaimed fitness instructors. With attendees encouraged to participate in their Sweaty Betty sports bras, the event is designed to demonstrate to women of all ages, particularly young girls that all body types are strong and should be celebrated.

Instructors and VIPs will be outfitted in head-to-toe Sweaty Betty wearing the brand's hero Power leggings along with the branded Dare to Bare sports bra. Sweaty Betty will also have an onsite presence with a curated Pop-Up Shop, a fun unique British phone booth photo opportunity and complimentary monogramming with any purchase made that day.

"Seeing 500 women sweating it out in their Sweaty Betty sports bras last year at Dare to Bare in New York was incredible," reflects Tamara. "Union Square had such an amazing atmosphere on the day, so I can't wait for us to do it again in San Francisco and New York."
