FARMINGTON, Conn., July 20, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Mobile Sense Technologies, Inc. (Mobile Sense), a medical wearable technology company, today announced that Steven J. "I am excited about Mobile Sense's wearable technology for arrythmia detection," said Gray. "The upper arm-based design and the embedded algorithms into smart watches offers a distinct approach to cardiac monitoring. The team has strong partners and a solid technology and I look forward to helping shape their commercialization efforts."

Mobile Sense is building foundational technology enabling off-the-chest wearables for long-term management of cardiac arrhythmias. The traditional cardiac monitoring market relies on seeing a specialist known as an electrophysiologist (EP) to make a diagnosis. Mobile Sense enables users to do a first pass screen of their own cardiac signals using smart watch technology, with the possibility for long-term monitoring on the upper arm as prescribed by a cardiologist. The company recently won the Johnson & Johnson Innovation, JLABS @ NYC Quickfire Challenge and is now a JLABS @ NYC resident company.

"The addition of Steve Gray to our board adds significant insight and knowledge into the cardiac monitoring space and advances our efforts towards commercialization," said Justin Chickles, CEO and co-founder. "We are also thrilled about winning the QuickFire challenge and we are looking forward to the amazing opportunity this represents to connect into the startup community."

Mobile Sense continues to be a part of UConn's Technology Incubation Program facility in Farmington. With investments from Connecticut Innovations and SBIR grants from the National Science Foundation and the National Institute of Health, Mobile Sense aims to expand diagnosis of patients with arrhythmias through long term, non-invasive digital health monitoring.

"Steve brings leadership and deep medical device and diagnostic experience to the Mobile Sense Board of Directors," said Patrick O'Neill, Director of Investments for Connecticut Innovations. "As the company continues to progress forward and engage with investors, Steve's arrival at this time is a welcome addition to the company's already solid foundation."
