Software implementation included increased functionality to track surgical loaner kits in the field, integration with third party logistics tracking features, enhanced access and reporting of inventory currently in-process and in finished goods, and upgraded virtualization software to provide quicker response times and an extremely high degree of reliability. Millstone's online IMS provides real-time visibility to new product receipt through packaging and sterilization. The system includes customer service access to the Millstone finished goods warehouse and gives traceability, at a lot code/serial number level, to products shipped to field locations and distributors. The most advanced module of the online IMS is the loaner kit processing functionality. This module provides lot code level traceability to items within the kit, full visibility to all kits maintained in the client loaner pool, and immediate knowledge of any items that are not returned with a loaner kit.
