LANSING, Mich. and LIVONIA, Mich., Nov. 8, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Michigan Pharmacists Association(MPA) is partnering with MedCerts™ – one of the nation's leading online healthcare and IT certification training schools – in an effort to bring a higher level of training to pharmacy technicians across the nation. The partnership will impact state associations
"We are excited to partner with the MedCerts team," said Dianne Malburg, Chief Operations Officer of MPA. "Since 2009, MedCerts has had a strong track record of developing and delivering best-in-class training programs. This was reinforced in July when MedCerts earned nationally-recognized accreditation from the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP)/Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) for their Pharmacy Technician program. Our partnership will bring an innovative approach to technician training, and add significant value to other state associations."
The MPA and MedCerts partnership is expected to significantly impact the industry. The members of participating state pharmacy associations will receive discounts on the ASHP/ACPE accredited (Pharmacy Technician Professional) program and the Certified Pharmacy Technician (Pharmacy Technician Specialist) program. The goal of the MPA and MedCerts partnership is to increase the number and quality of certified technicians across the United States.
"We are very proud of our success in improving training initiatives in the Pharmacy industry," said Domenic Policicchio, Director of Corporate Development at MedCerts. "Our goal is simple: we want to broaden accessibility to technician training (ASHP/ACPE) and certify more technicians. This partnership brings an enormous amount of support and industry knowledge, with goals that align seamlessly. We are honored to be partnering with one of the most influential Associations in the country."
Michigan Pharmacists Association (MPA) was established Nov. 14, 1883, and represents nearly 9,000 pharmacists and 15,000 pharmacy technicians in Michigan.
