Scott Ste Marie turned his own battle with depression into an opportunity to bring hope and healing to millions of people all over the world.

BIRMINGHAM, Sutton Coldfield, May 2, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Visit Depression to Expression's official website, and you're immediately introduced to

the organization's core message: An Honest Dialogue About Mental Health. The initiative was founded by Scott Ste Marie, who uses frank discussion surrounding his own struggle with depression and anxiety to inspire others.

It has, thus far, proved to be a successful mission. Ste Marie worked with Canadian Mental Health Association, as well as many schools and other organizations, to help others start getting real about their mental health challenges. In the process, he assists others in not just overcoming these challenges, but finding real value within them.

Recently, Ste Marie was invited to speak at a TEDx event in Toronto. His talk, titled, "Why You Should Question Everything", guides listeners through his own bubbling curiosity about life. He shares how he applied the same approach to an unexpected bout of depression. "New experiences forced me to ask new questions," he explains.

By formulating logical questions concerning his mental health, he was inviting answers which helped him understand how he was feeling. And more importantly, the questions can help you feel more connected to others.

These days, Scott doesn't just book speaking engagements. He regularly uploads valuable content on his YouTube channel, including guided meditations. In these videos, we are introduced to one of his most effective tools for the mindfulness that helps us find the answers - Tibetan singing bowls.

"The bowl is a tool to enhance our ability to get the most out of our meditation practice," he shares. "Each person is different in what they need to experience relaxation, peace, and perhaps a moment of transcendence. Personally, [singing bowls] have allowed me to get the most out of my practice throughout the past decade, and they might be just what people need to take that next step forward."

For those interested in using a singing bowl to enhance their meditation and mindfulness practices, Ste Marie recommends a particular brand. Silent Mind is one of Amazon's top sellers of authentic Tibetan singing bowls, and is known to be suitable for beginners and experienced players alike.

"At the beginning of my meditation and mindfulness practice nearly 10 years ago, I wanted to find ways to sink deeper into the moment and focus on each and every sense," he recalls. "After the first guided meditation I heard with a sound bowl, I simply went on Amazon and found Silent Mind - the greatest investment I made towards my meditation practice."

While Scott is helping to popularize the connection between singing bowls and mental wellbeing, it is a topic that has already gained some scientific footing. Studies have demonstrated that sound-facilitated meditation sessions which include singing bowls may help reduce tension associated with mood disorders and chronic conditions.
