A new "Ask Your Dentist About Pinhole®" public awareness campaign begins during National "Show Your Smile" Month in May to educate the public about the minimally invasive treatment for receding gums.

LOS ANGELES, May 2, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- National "Show Your Smile Month" launches May 1

to increase public awareness of receding gums and Pinhole Gum Rejuvenation®, the minimally invasive treatment to reverse gum recession. Also known as the Chao Pinhole Surgical Technique® or simply Pinhole®, this breakthrough technique is changing the way dentists are treating receding gums while making it easier for patients to have needed treatment.

A national "Ask Your Dentist About Pinhole" public awareness campaign is now in progress supported with messages on TV and a new website: http://www.askyourdentistaboutpinhole.com. The website provides useful information on gum recession and shows how Pinhole® is done. The website also features a "Find A Dentist" service.

Public awareness messages on receding gums and the Pinhole™ Technique are airing on broadcast and cable TV in multiple markets across the US and Canada beginning with the greater Los Angeles - Orange County market. National "Show Your Smile Month" continues throughout the month of May 2019.

"Receding gums are unattractive, can cause tooth sensitivity to cold and may increase the risk of other dental issues," says Dr. John Chao, dentist, educator and inventor of Pinhole Gum Rejuvenation®. "Often, the first symptom is a sharp pain when biting into something cold or drinking something hot. This hypersensitivity occurs because the roots of the teeth are no longer properly protected by the gums. Many people become concerned by the appearance of their teeth and gums."

"The need for an easier, less painful treatment for receding gums motivated me to invent Pinhole Gum Rejuvenation®," says Dr. Chao. "Pinhole® is scalpel free, suture free and graft free. The entire procedure is done through small pinholes made in the gums."

Using specially designed dental instruments designed and patented by Dr. Chao, dentists guide the patient's receded gums down to improve root coverage in a process that takes just minutes per tooth. "The pinholes heal quickly and most patients report little or no pain and require minimal or no post-op downtime," says Dr. Chao.

To date Dr. Chao has personally trained over 3,200 doctors from around the world with ongoing bimonthly training seminars continuing at the Pinhole® Academy in Alhambra, CA.  For more information go to http://www.askyourdentistaboutpinhole.com
