MarijuanaBreak, one of today's trusted authorities on health-specific cannabis information and industry-related updates, has just released its annual list of the best CBD oil tinctures for pain relief for 2018.

The company produced a similar list for 2017, but due to changing laws and the evolving nature of the industry, several key manufacturers were added - and a few removed - for this year's update.

"People don't realize the amount of resources we put into this annual list," says staff contributor and brand representative Nicole Richter. "In addition to sampling dozens of products ourselves, we review literally thousands of consumer reports before making our final decisions."

Among other things, the site's criteria for "best CBD oils" include things like potency, purity, product safety, customer service, and of course, price.

"The CBD industry is a unique beast," Richter says. "Because of the lack of market regulations, you can easily have two products at a similar price point that are wildly different from one another in terms of quality and potency."

The website included 25 selections on their finalized list of the best CBD oils, which placed an emphasis on organic, "seed-to-sale" products made in the USA. The top five brands for 2018 include:

  • Pure Kana (Los Angeles, CA)
  • Green Roads (Davie, FL)
  • Premium Jane (Parsippany, NJ)
  • CBD Pure (Vancouver, WA)
  • Hemp Bombs (Tampa, FL)
For the uninitiated, CBD is a natural component of the cannabis plant, with the crucial distinction that, unlike marijuana, it does not get users high.

"People are still coming to terms with what exactly CBD is," Richter says. "And just as importantly, what CBD isn't."

Numerous studies and scientific investigations have suggested that the compound may be able to help with things like pain, inflammation, anxiety, and sleep-related issues, but the hazy legal status surrounding cannabis in the U.S. has made some potential buyers a bit wary about the prospect of online ordering.

"One of our key goals over the past 18-months or so has been to promote CBD-related education," Richter says. "There is an obvious difference in legality between high-THC marijuana oils - which are illegal in most states - and hemp-based CBD oils. Each one of the brands on our top-25 list ships legally to all 50 U.S. states - no medical card required."
