"When we first launched the Global Hackathon Series, we could have never predicted how far it would go and how many people around the world it would impact. We've seen parents learn how to code alongside their children in Los Angeles, an 80% female hackathon attendance rate in Gaza, and a hackathon team in Barcelona join our HACKcelerator program then go on to receive over €2 million in funding. So it's always an extra special moment for us when we can step back from that and say 'what's next.' How do we continue growing and bringing opportunities around the world? This year that means hosting a genuinely global program through our first virtual series event." said Founder & CEO, Sabeen Ali.

Adi Abili, Director of Accelerators & CIO, added, "The talent in our community continues to rise year-after-year, and by allowing remote individuals the chance to network and submit their ideas to an established program, we expect to see more developers than ever before creating startups with innovative tech at the forefront."

Top teams from both the in-person and virtual Hackathons will be welcomed into an acclaimed global pre-accelerator, the HACKcelerator, for a 3-month long mentorship and curriculum-driven program that has seen five exits and a rising valuation over the past five years. The HACKcelerator provides resources, access, and the chance to pitch to numerous investors in Silicon Valley during AngelHack's 2019 Global Demo Day.
