PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 19, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Life of Purpose Addiction Treatment Centers announced it has expanded its clinical

treatment programming by creating adolescent only substance use disorder addiction treatment for adolescents aged 14 -18.

According to Life of Purpose Executive Director, Bethany Kassar, MSW, LCSW, "As Life of Purpose

is serving more patients throughout the greater Philadelphia market, we realize there is significant unmet treatment needs of adolescents and their families, particularly in a therapeutic outpatient environment.  We have parents asking us continually if we can help provide them and their teenage children help for their substance addictions.  Now we can definitively answer - YES."  Life of Purpose has specifically designated their Fort Washington treatment site for adolescent treatment.

Using evidenced based treatment strategies with a strong focus on wellness, life skills and relapse prevention, Life of Purpose is clinically focused in helping their adolescent clients build successful and promising lives without the use of substances.  Some of the treatment services offered by Life of Purpose for adolescents include:

  • Outpatient treatment and life-skills services,
  • Addiction Awareness and education,
  • And, Family Education.

Licensed clinician, Amanda Keenan, LPC, CAADC, will oversee the adolescent clinical treatment services provided by Life of Purpose.  Keenan stated, "Life of Purpose is striving to meet the growing needs of the community by providing a treatment program that can serve a large range of adolescents.  The goal of our adolescent program is to provide psychoeducation and awareness on substance abuse, and the risky behaviors associated with these patterns.  At Life of Purpose, we continue to challenge commonly held myths and beliefs that the adolescent culture typically considers true - such as, 'what method of substance use they consider to be safe'.  We have found that many adolescents are heavily using vape pens and marijuana oil and are unaware of the significant harm and risk of this behavior."

Keenan continued, "Our program will help increase teens' knowledge as to how their 'social use' can progress into the disease of addiction and its significant consequences.  We work very closely with the families and educational systems of our adolescent patients to ensure the goal of treating all their individual needs can be achieved."

Life of Purpose has clinical outpatient locations in Fort Washington, Yardley, and Bala Cynwyd with both day and evening treatment services to accommodate the life engagements and requirements of its patients and their families.

Life of Purpose Addiction Treatment is owned by and part of the City Line Behavioral Healthcare treatment continuum.
