AVERILL PARK, N.Y., April 17, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Leonard Perlmutter founder
Leonard Perlmutter is a noted educator, philosopher, and author of both the award-winning book and conference curriculum, "The Heart and Science of Yoga" and the mind/body medicine journal "Transformation." Leonard has previously presented courses at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Kaiser Permanente, the Commonwealth Club of California, the U. S. Military Academy at West Point, and The New York Times Yoga Forum with Dean Ornish MD.
Recognizing that desire is the fuel for human action, Perlmutter conceived a scientific formula that might well be called the spiritual equivalent of Albert Einstein's E = MC2. The formula Perlmutter formulated was D = E + W + C. "Every desire," he explains, "is composed of three basic components: healing energy, will power and creativity (or consciousness). When an individual consciously sacrifices any ego or sense gratification that conflicts with the conscience of the mind, that contractive, harmful, devitalizing energy is automatically transformed into internal reserves of healing energy, will power and creativity that can be accessed at any time."
The entire "Heart and Science of Yoga" CME conference curriculum is dedicated to providing quality, comprehensive and evidence-based education to physicians and other health care providers on Yoga Science as mind/body medicine. In addition Leonard Perlmutter's presentation of the core curriculum of Yoga Science and AMI Meditation, other speaker topics will include diaphragmatic breathing, mantra science, yoga psychology, epigenetics, research on yoga's mind/body connection, resiliency, mind function optimization, food as medicine, Ayurveda, easy-gentle yoga, lymph system detoxification, the chakra system as a diagnostic tool, how to reimagine the modern medical culture, and practical ways to integrate Yoga Science into a medical provider's personal and professional life.
The dedication, enthusiasm, and teaching methodology of the entire AMI faculty create a dynamic and interactive course for their students. Each faculty member is committed to the advancement and training of Yoga Science as holistic mind/body medicine. In addition to Leonard Perlmutter, other presenters will include Robert Schneider MD, Robert Schneider MD, Dean of the College of Integrative Medicine and Director of the Institute for Natural Medicine and Prevention at Maharishi University; Anthony Santilli MD, board certified in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine; Sat Bir Singh Khalsa, PhD, Director of Research for the Kundalini Research Institute, and Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School; Susan Lord MD, a private practice holistic physician focusing on prevention and treatment, and former course director for the The Center for Mind-Body Medicine's "Food As Medicine" program in Washington, DC; Jesse Ritvo MD, Assistant Medical Director, Inpatient Psychiatry, University of Vermont Health Center; Renee Rodriguez-Goodemote, MD, Medical Director of the Saratoga Hospital Community Health Center; Joshua Zamer, MD, Medical Director for Addiction Medicine at Saratoga Hospital Community Health Center and Chairman of the Department of Family Practice; Anita Burock-Stotts, MD, board certified in Internal Medicine; Kristin Kaelber MD, PhD, board certified in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics; Janine Pardo MD, board certified in Internal Medicine; Gustavo Grodnitzky PhD, Chair of the AMI Psychological Education Committee; Jenness Cortez Perlmutter, faculty member of The American Meditation Institute, and Lee Albert, NMT, acclaimed neuromuscular therapist and gentle yoga instructor.
