EAST THETFORD, Vt., Sept. 17, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) awarded
Lantana's experience in Hospital Quality Reporting and Hospital Compare will support CMS Hospital Quality Initiative goals across settings and throughout the full information lifecycle with an emphasis on usability under CMS direction and in alignment with legislative priorities.
"We are pleased to continue our work supporting CMS's provision of meaningful, beneficiary driven data on Hospital Compare," said Alisha Hutson, Project Director. "This data allows beneficiaries and their care givers the opportunity to make informed decisions regarding their healthcare."
CMS launched the Hospital Compare website in 2005, posting data on a set of quality measures for just over 400 hospitals. Today, Hospital Compare reports on over 100 quality measures—including process, outcome, structural, survey, and efficiency measures—for over 4,700 acute care, critical access, Veteran's Administration, and hospital outpatient departments.
"As the only incumbent small business on the MIDS III vehicle, we look forward to helping CMS realize its ambitious goals for small business engagement while achieving operational excellence and a healthcare system that pays for value," said Dan Andersen, Project Executive. "Lantana has been at the forefront of data exchange and interoperability to support care improvement for many years and is an ideal partner to CMS as they improve the exchange of data to support clinical care and healthcare decisions while reducing burden among providers."
Lantana's continued role as the prime on the contract will include NORC at the University of Chicago as a business partner and sub-contractor.
