SAN FRANCISCO, July 11, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- New mental health app LARKR has announced that its CEO and Co-Founder, Shawn Kernes, will be a featured speaker at the upcoming Anxiety Tech Conference hosted by Mental Illness Matters. The conference will take place at The Palace of Fine Arts Theatre in San Francisco, California on July 18, 2018 from 8 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Kernes will present at 3:30 p.m. on "Getting Therapy to Those Who Need It Most," shining a light on the numerous roadblocks people face when pursuing mental health treatment and the best options to help the individuals and industry overcome these issues.
Kernes' presentation and his company LARKR were both inspired by the fact that approximately half of the U.S. population lives in rural areas with very limited access to mental health care. Even for those who do have access to care, issues with scheduling, transportation, and continuity of care can make it difficult to regularly see a therapist in a traditional office setting.
