17 years ago, Angel was pregnant with her third child and very depressed. She hadn't lost the weight she had gained from her previous pregnancies and now she was pregnant with her third child.
"I got really depressed! I remember watching mom mom and aunts all my life, they would go on the latest fad diet, lose weight, then go off and gain it all back again. I saw this repeated over and over throughout my life. I decided I wasn't going to do that."
She started to research different diets and her research led her to the then popular Atkins diet.

Angel decided on the latter, and at 3 months pregnant she started the Atkins diet with the approval of her doctor. Three months after the delivery of her baby she weighed 20 pounds less than her pre-pregnancy weight.
"I knew this worked! And I loved it. I continued to eat low carb and lose weight."
She went on to have two more children, each time easily losing the weight she had gained during her pregnancies.
"My goal is to show people how living a low carb / keto diet is totally sustainable over the long run. So many people think it's not!"
