CHICAGO, Sept. 8 As the rest of the country returns from the Labor Day holiday, world-class speedskater Katherine Reutter (Champaign, IL) faces the biggest day of her athletic career as she enters the US Olympic Short Track Speedskating Trials, in Marquette, MI. There, Reutter will look to take the next step in her Olympic journey - officially earning a spot on the 2010 Olympic Team for this February's Olympic Games in Vancouver, Canada.

"In past years, Labor Day has always been the end of hard summer training and the beginning of preseason race preparation," said Reutter. "That's not the case this year. With Olympic Trials beginning today, it's now or never. We've got to be ready to go, top speed. If you don't perform here, there's no tomorrow... at least not until 2014."

Reutter undergoes grueling, year-round preparation all in hopes of a once-every-four-year Olympic opportunity. Unlike most athletes, speedskaters crouch down into a low-to-the-ice aerodynamic stance. While this improves speed, it requires tremendous strength and restricts blood flow to the legs. The result is an agonizing burning sensation familiar to anyone who has pushed themselves to their physical limits. Reutter, an avid clean-eater and student of nutrition, touts D-Ribose as one of her weapons for on-ice success.

"Our training can be pretty brutal," explains Reutter. "Since I started taking Ribose, I've definitely noticed an improvement in my endurance and stamina. So much so, Ribose has become equally a part of my daily routine as lacing up my skates. I've worked too hard and long to leave anything on the table now. Proper nutrition is a huge part of what I need to succeed and Ribose is part of that game plan."

Bioenergy D-Ribose stimulates the synthesis of ATP, the essential energy compound found in every cell in the body. ATP is critical for maintaining normal energy-related functions, and D-Ribose is the essential component. Traditionally used to aid cardiovascular health, D-Ribose has begun making inroads in the sports nutrition market as a healthy, natural means of gaining a competitive edge.

Katherine Reutter is two-time reigning National Champion and winner of over a dozen international medals on the World Cup speedskating circuit. For information visit: www.KatherineReutter.com
