Israeli President and Sheba Medical Center, Tel HaShomer, Help Launch Business Forum to Strengthen Israeli and Canadian Ties

Business leaders and politicians from Canada and Israel convened for the launch of the Canada Israel Business Forum in Toronto on April 2nd. Israeli President Reuven Rivlin and representatives from Sheba Medical Center detailed the mutual economic benefits shared by the two countries through a strong Canadian-Israeli relationship.

TORONTO, April 11, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- On Monday, April 2nd, leaders of the Canadian

and Israeli business sectors gathered in Toronto for the launch of the Canada Israel Business Forum, led by Israeli President Reuven Rivlin. The forum is an initiative to explore mutual business development opportunities and increased ties between the two nations.

Chief representatives from Sheba Medical Center, Tel HaShomer – the Middle East's largest and most comprehensive hospital – were on hand to express their support for future business and medical endeavors between the two countries.

Prof. Amit Segev, Director of the Olga and Lev Leviev Heart Center at Sheba Medical Center, and board members of Canadian Friends of Sheba used the opportunity to stress the importance of a healthy economic relationship with Canada and touted the many benefits shared through their connections in medicine.

Throughout the day, local businesses lined up to meet with Sheba Medical Center to pursue professional collaborations with the leading hospital.

Sheba Medical Center is a global medical powerhouse and was recently named as one of the "10 Best Hospitals in the World" by Newsweek Magazine.

Sheba doctors also recently gathered at Toronto's Sunnybrook Health Sciences Center to discuss the important connection between the two preeminent facilities and their shared goal in improving heart health. In 2017, the two hospitals formed a robust partnership, with five areas of collaboration, including fellowships, joint research and innovation projects, to combine forces in the battle against heart disease.
