The CHCM credential focuses on the importance of leading safety and managing hazards. This management based safety-related credential would be appropriate for safety, health, and environmental managers, directors, or coordinators working in all industry groups. IBFCSM has issued 4,000 CHCM credentials since 1976. The Board would like to mark this milestone by waiving the CHCM Application Fee for any qualified candidate applying to sit for the CHCM. Qualified candidates must submit an online application by March 31, 2017. Candidates must pay the published examination fee. Please note that the Nebraska Safety Council periodically offers a CHCM Review & Exam Workshop for those wanting to review hazard control concepts and principles prior to sitting for the exam. Please access their website for additional information.

IBFCSM offers voluntary self-study material but does not require any candidate to purchase any study resources to qualify for certification. Purchasing study materials or attending a review session does not ensure that an individual will pass the exam.  Self-study material can help a candidate identify strengths or weaknesses.
