NEW YORK, Nov. 5 Informed Medical Communications (IMC), aninteractive medical information service company, has named Steven K. Budd asChief Executive Officer. The announcement was made today by IMC's Board ofDirectors and takes effect immediately. Based in IMC's Edison, New Jerseyoffice, Mr. Budd replaces former IMC CEO Thomas Patton who will remain withthe company as Chairman of the Board.
The new CEO brings more than twenty five years of sales, marketing andmedical communications experience to IMC, most recently as President of PDI,Inc, a position he held since 2000. After joining PDI in 1996 as ExecutiveVice President, Mr. Budd was appointed Chief Operating Officer in 1998 and wasa member of the team that brought the company through its successful IPO.During his tenure at PDI, he helped vault the company to a leadership positionin providing sales and marketing services to the bio-pharmaceutical industry,at its peak achieving revenues in excess of $400 million with four thousandemployees and a market valuation of over $1 billion.
