Dr. Kathiresan received her BA from Cornell University and then earned her medical degree at the Medical College of Georgia. While at MCG, she was active in health disparities advocacy, which earned her a national leadership award from the American Medical Association. She went on to complete her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Miami / Jackson Memorial Hospital, where she was recognized for her academic achievement. She then completed her fellowship training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of California, Los Angeles.
Dr. Kathiresan has extensively published many peer-reviewed scientific journals on topics including abnormal implantation, hysteroscopic polypectomies, fibroids, ovulation regulation, male infertility, and prognostic indicators with fertility treatment. She has received several awards for her research achievements and most recently, she was named a "Rising Star Super Doc" in 2018, an honor given to only 2.5% of doctors in the state.
