LUTZ, Fla., June 5, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Clinicians looking to obtain an accurate overview of an individual's academic skills

can now welcome a new assessment to their toolkit – the Academic Achievement Battery™ (AAB™) by Melissa A. Messer, MHS. Ideal for measuring basic reading, math, spelling, and reading comprehension skills quickly and reliably,
the AAB can be used in educational, research, or clinical settings to confidently evaluate individuals in just 15 to 30 minutes.

The AAB is ideal for evaluating fundamental academic skills during an initial evaluation, during reevaluation, or when working with those referred for learning, behavior, or vocational concerns across the life span. All four subtests are included in one easy-to-use response booklet. Reading subtest scores combine to provide a Reading Composite, which provides detailed data to understand an individual's reading skills. Plus, an overall composite score provides the user with a snapshot of an individual's academic performance.

Unlike other achievement tests on the market, the AAB requires very little training to administer, and detailed scoring has been kept to a minimum. There is no subjective scoring, making it easy to determine whether a response is correct or incorrect. Recent normative data are provided for 32 different age groups, and norms for children and adolescents by grade from PreK through Grade 12 are included for both fall and spring, giving the AAB a competitive edge on similar tests on the market.

Developed using academic standards set by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, the National Council of Teachers of English, Common Core, and Reading First, the AAB is the newest member of this family of products. A Comprehensive Form, which offers a complete evaluation of academic skills, and a Screening Form, which offers a fundamental evaluation of reading, math, spelling, and writing skills, are also available.

The AAB has strong positive correlations with other measures of comprehensive achievement including the Wechsler Individual Achievement Test, Third Edition, the Woodcock-Johnson III, and the Kaufman Test of Educational Achievement, Second Edition. In addition, the manual offers discrepancy data with the Reynolds Intellectual Achievement Scales, 2nd Ed. (RIAS-2), which gives users the ability to compare AAB scores to an IQ assessment. When used together, the RIAS-2 and AAB offer a valid and efficient way to thoroughly assess intelligence and academic achievement. The manual includes evidence supporting the ability of the AAB to differentiate performance in individuals with various learning disabilities, intellectual developmental disorder, ADHD, and speech/language impairment.

The AAB is an exceptional value at just $140. To learn more about the AAB, visit, or call PAR Customer Support at 1.800.331.8378.
