IPRO Wins 2008 Aesculapius Awards

BETHESDA, Md., Dec. 18 The Aesculapius Awards, named for the ancient Greek god of healing, were announced by Dr. Peter G. Goldschmidt, President and Founder of the Health Improvement Institute, sponsor of the Awards Program.

IPRO's www.YourHealthYourVoice.org won an Aesculapius Award of Excellence. Presented in four languages, English, Spanish, Russian and Chinese, the Web site was created for both consumers and professionals as a source of information about the quality of care complaint review process, Medicare beneficiary rights and IPRO. Further, the "Your Health. Your Voice" Quality of Care Concerns English (30- and 60-second) and Spanish (60-second) Radio Public Service Announcements all received Certificate of Merit Awards.

"We were delighted to take part in the Aesculapius Awards Program this year, and were honored to be selected as a winner in multiple categories," says Linda Sion, Project Manager.



"People need reliable information about lifestyle and health care choices presented in an appealing way. The Aesculapius Awards are designed to promote and encourage excellence in the communication of good information about healthy lifestyles, disease prevention, and health care treatments," said Dr. Goldschmidt. "This year's winners continued the very high standard of creativity and quality that we have seen since the awards began. We are delighted by the wide variety of organizations that chose to submit entries this year."



A panel of judges representing the health care, Web publishing and multimedia fields evaluated entries. This award was established by the Health Improvement Institute, a non-profit, tax-exempt organization based in Bethesda, Maryland, to promote informed consumer lifestyle choices and health care decisions. Health Improvement Institute is a non-profit, tax exempt, 501(c)(3), charitable organization dedicated to improving the quality and productivity of America's health care.



IPRO is a nationally-recognized, independent quality improvement and evaluation organization, holding major contracts with state and federal governments, as well as private-sector clients.
