NEW YORK, May 06, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The James Beard Foundation is leading the country to greener pastures.
The James Beard Foundation helps drive the cutting edge in food science and education. In the spirit of that tradition they are hosting Altered Plates on May 15th. Altered Plates is a California-based culinary collective that focuses on exploring and expanding the use of cannabis in food, beverages and hospitality or event spaces.
Altered Plates founders and siblings Chef Holden Jagger and Rachel Burkons are creating a five-course meal under the theme of "An Exploration of Terpenes" which features terpenes and fine dining. True Terpenes will be supplying the terpenes for the evening. The Portland, Oregon company is the industry leader in utilizing botanical terpenes to recreate the terpene and flavor profiles of the cannabis plant. Their products are featured in beers, cocktails, chocolates, barbecue and beyond. You can basically add terpenes, and the flavor or taste of cannabis, to any food or drink you can imagine.
Further, True Terpenes' profiles are used to add flavor and effect to cannabis extracts or products throughout the world.
True Terpenes Director of Food and Beverage Innovation Ross Hunsinger will be presenting terpene cocktails and mocktails that will pair with the courses prepared by Chef Holden Jagger. Jagger also plans to pair terpenes with various wines to elevate the experience.
"Terpenes are the building blocks of all flavors and the ability to custom tailor any flavor profile to achieve sensory and effect based results is nothing short of a revolution in flavor development for the modern kitchen pantry," said Hunsinger.
Altered Plates, the James Beard Foundation and True Terpenes are helping to set the table for the normalization of cannabis and terpenes as a part of daily life.
