Heritage Valley Health System Named a Finalist for Microsoft Healthcare User Group Award

BEAVER, Pa., Feb. 1 Heritage Valley Health System has beennamed a finalist for the 2008 Microsoft Healthcare User Group annual MS-HUGHealthcare Innovation Award for Clinical Records -- Inpatient. HeritageValley is competing against two other finalists for the award. They areHospital Sao Sebastiano from Portugal and the Vanderbilt University MedicalCenter Department of Anesthesiology.

Heritage Valley and their development partner Athena Technologies arebeing recognized for their Mobile Clinical Access Portal (M-CAP) solutionwhich is a secure wireless handheld solution providing physicians with 3 yearsof on-line clinical data from any WIFI or Broadband connection point. The M-CAP solution provides a cross continuum view of their patients and theirelectronic health record.

Finalists are judged primarily on thefollowing three criteria. First, does the innovation represent a breakthroughfrom the industry's historical approaches?
