The Henry Schein Cares Medal is an initiative of Henry Schein Cares, the company's global corporate social responsibility program. Through Henry Schein Cares, the company uses its resources to support health care professionals around the world who provide care for those who would otherwise receive little or no medical attention.
"Team Schein is pleased to open the application process for the fourth annual Henry Schein Cares Medal as we seek to honor the health care professionals and organizations who embody our commitment to 'helping health happen'," said Stanley M. "We look forward to learning more about this year's applicants, the innovative ways in which they've overcome unique challenges, and the lasting impacts they've had on their communities."
A panel of expert judges from the medical, philanthropy, social entrepreneurship, and business sectors will select three finalists among applicants from the fields of oral health and medicine. Each finalist will receive a $10,000 cash award through the support of the Henry Schein Cares Foundation.

How to Apply
To be considered a candidate for this award, applicants must be a nonprofit organization or trust that is tax-exempt under IRS Section 501(c)(3) and that is a public charity. The applicant should demonstrate that the program has expanded access to health care for the underserved in a novel and innovative way that is measurable and quantifiable. Emphasis will be placed on expanding access to health care for children (birth to age 18), although all efforts to expand access to care will be considered.
