Henry Schein And Team Schein Members Donate More Than $100,000 To Aid Hurricane Matthew Recovery Efforts

Donations Assist Relief Organizations Working in Affected Areas of U.S. and the Caribbean

MELVILLE, N.Y., Nov. 10, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- In the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew, Henry Schein, Inc. (Nasdaq: HSIC) is responding to the medical and logistical needs of rebuilding communities by joining its Team Schein Members to donate more than $100,000 in cash and health care products to relief organizations working in impacted areas throughout the southeastern United States and the Caribbean.

Given the size and scale of the damage, the Henry Schein Cares Foundation, Inc.—an independent 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to increasing access to care throughout the world—opened the Henry Schein Cares Hurricane Matthew Disaster Relief Fund to raise money for relief efforts. Henry Schein, Inc. matched employee donations to the fund and also donated much-needed medical supplies (e.g. gloves, gauze, bandages, hand sanitizer, toothpaste and mouthwash, vitamins, and syringes) to relief organizations, bringing the total contribution to more than $100,000. Organizations receiving cash and product donations include AmeriCares, Catholic Medical Mission Board, Catholic Relief Services, Direct Relief International, Heart to Heart International, International Medical Corps, IsraAid, LDS Philanthropies, Lutheran World Relief, Inc., MAP International, MedShare, Partners in Health, and Project HOPE.
