FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Nov. 1, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- HealthChannels is pleased to announce the acquisition of PhysAssist Medical Scribes. Previously acquired by TeamHealth, PhysAssist has implemented and managed scribe programs from coast to coast. The PhysAssist approach to full, turn-key medical scribe solutions complements the ScribeAmerica model, and bolsters HealthChannels ability to provide critical care team support to health systems nationwide.

"We're thrilled to welcome PhysAssists dynamic and respected workforce to our ScribeAmerica family," said HealthChannels' founder and CEO, Dr. Michael Murphy. "This transaction represents our growing efforts to improve patient outcomes by supporting care teams and providers alike. PhysAssist and ScribeAmerica share a common goal to solve complicated healthcare challenges that lead to better efficiency and improve the quality of care."

As the leading companies in the medical scribe field, ScribeAmerica and PhysAssist have guided health systems through the shift from fee-for-service to value-based care. Because of their respective approaches to redefining care delivery, health systems with medical scribe support are better equipped to improve access to care, address physician retention, patient satisfaction, and engagement.

With decades of experience combined, the acquisition marks an important turning point for the medical scribe industry.

In addition to PhysAssist Medical Scribes, HealthChannels acquired Minnesota-based Elite Medical Scribes in 2017, California-based Medical Scribe Systems, Essia Health, and Virginia-based eScribe.

ScribeAmerica works closely with HealthChannels sister companies, CareThrough and QueueLogix to meet the needs of health systems looking to optimize data, and deliver value-based patient care in a rapidly changing healthcare industry.

About HealthChannels HealthChannels is a leading provider of healthcare solutions and services, including medical scribing, care coordination and real-time coding, across a broad range of care settings. These solutions are offered through three distinct channels—ScribeAmerica, the nation's most frequently used medical scribe company, QueueLogix and CareThrough.

ScribeAmerica was established in 2004 as a clinical documentation solution for providers transitioning to the electronic medical record (EMR). The company's focus on improving the accuracy and quality of patient documentation has resulted in higher patient satisfaction scores, improved revenue cycle, and better continuity of care. The company recruits, trains, and manages over 17,000 scribes in over 2,700 locations nationwide.
