State agencies in Florida and Virginia leverage advanced analytics capabilities to better serve constituents

WOBURN, Mass., August 06, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Copley Consulting Group, a Qlik Elite Solution Provider, announced today that two Health and Human Services (HHS) agencies in Florida, the Department of Health and Department of Children and Families, and the Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services have chosen the Qlik Sense® platform to visualize insights from multiple data sources, with the objective of better servicing their various constituents.

Health and Human Services has historically been the largest part of any state's budget, while also being tasked with tackling a variety of issues, whether it's administering SNAP (formerly food stamps) programs, Medicaid benefits, or dealing with the opioid crisis. These agencies are faced with the challenge of needing to do more with less, often with antiquated processes and systems. Per a CompTIA survey of HHS representatives, technology is playing a major role in the transformation of today's HHS agencies, with cloud solutions and case management two of the major initiatives across all agencies (The State of State Health & Human Services (HHS) Technology Programs, CompTIA, 2018).

Within this backdrop, The Copley Consulting Group is working with Qlik to provide HHS agencies with a scalable cloud-based analytics platform that extracts and visualizes data from various sources to provide agencies with the analysis they need to improve the delivery of services.

Customer Highlights:

  • Florida Department of Health (DOH): With Qlik and Copley, Florida DOH will, for example, be able to analyze substance abuse data across several sources to identify trouble spots across the state and the factors related to repeated abuse .
  • Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF): The agency will be utilizing Qlik analytics to improve the disposition of cases, ensuring quicker resolutions and the health and safety of families under their purview.
  • Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS): As the administrator of Medicaid benefits for Virginia, DMAS is tasked with ensuring quality healthcare coverage for its members. With the expansion of Medicaid benefits, the Commonwealth will leverage Qlik analytics to better track coverage to ensure members are receiving the correct benefits.
Executive Perspective: "We are continuing to benefit from our strategic partnership with Qlik and focus on public sector clients, highlighted by the most recent success with Health and Human Services agencies," said Robert Lane, CEO of The Copley Consulting Group. "We have built up a tremendous amount of institutional knowledge when it comes to the specific needs of state agencies. With customers across Florida, Virginia and Maryland, among other states, we see significant opportunity in working with state governments to help them fully realize the value of analytics in better serving their residents."
