/PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Health economist, industry advisor and author Jane Sarasohn-Kahn
takes the stage today at the 53rd Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2020) in Las Vegas, Nevada
, to talk about the digital evolution of today's health consumer.
In her new book, HealthConsuming: From Health Consumer to Health Citizen, Sarasohn-Kahn describes the Amazon-"priming" of health consumers and tracks the growing expectations of consumer experience levels tied to digital tools and devices. Digital connections enable virtual care, telehealth and self-care, increasingly outside of bricks-and-mortar hospitals and doctors' offices.
At CES 2020 today, "I will focus on the growing opportunity for digital health found throughout the show," says Sarasohn-Kahn, "from the connected car for health and wellness to the washing machine that bolsters social health for kids in schools. I'll discuss the internet of healthy things at home, like food making in kitchens, beds that promote good sleep, and smart mirrors that go beyond health trackers in watches and phones."
Sarasohn-Kahn says her book is a call to action to expand peoples' access to quality health care while ensuring privacy and security protections for all citizens. Her talk will be featured at CES 2020 Gary's Book Club on the Consumer Technology Association's Grand Lobby Stage today at 11:30 a.m. PST
Sarasohn-Kahn founded the Health Populi blog in 2007 and is a long-time advisor to health/care ecosystem stakeholders. She has been named one of the Top 100 Most Influential Economists in the World, a Top Twitter Account to Follow in Digital Health, and one of 40 Healthcare Transformers.
