The Government of Canada's priority is the health and safety of Canadians. Collaboration with provinces and territories as well as other health care partners will be fundamental to delivering results. Health Canada will strengthen and expand existing outreach and information activities, as appropriate, to reinforce these important partnerships. "Medical devices are vital to the health and well-being of hundreds of thousands of Canadians—many of whom could not survive without them. Through this plan, Health Canada will take immediate action to ensure the medical devices Canadians use continue to meet the highest possible standards for safety, effectiveness and quality."
