CARROLLTON, Ga., Sept. 30 Greenway Medical TechnologiesInc., today announced that its flagship electronic health record (EHR),PrimeSuite 2008, is a fully CCHIT Certified(R) 08 ambulatory EHR, according tocriteria set forth by the Certification Commission for Healthcare InformationTechnology (CCHIT(R)), including certification for cardiovascular medicine andchild health. The Commission is the recognized certification body (RCB) by theUnited States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for certifyinghealth information technology (HIT) products.

In order to be 08 CCHIT Certified, PrimeSuite 2008 met all therequirements including enhancements to CCD-based interoperability ande-Prescribing functionality that improves access to a patient's medicalhistory and a longitudinal electronic patient health record. The Commissionexpanded their criteria from the 2007 certification process to includerequired improvements such as advanced medication dosing features that takeinto account specific patient needs and inherent safeguards within the EHRthat prevent adverse reactions due to drug interactions and/ or allergies.
