DELRAY BEACH, Fla., Oct. 1, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Transformations Drug & Alcohol Treatment Center in Delray

Beach, Fl., will host Ryan Hampton, former White House staffer and current activist for addiction recovery and opioid policy reform on Wednesday, October 3, and Thursday, October 4, 2018.

Hampton will spend two days at Transformations sharing his addiction story with staff, clients, and alumni—and offering solutions and hope. He will sign his newly-released book, American Fix: Inside the Opioid Crisis and How to End It. Hampton's book discusses his own struggle with opioid addiction, outlines the challenges the recovery movement faces, and offers a concrete action plan towards making America's addiction crisis a thing of the past.

"America witnessed 72,000 drug overdose deaths last year. That's nearly 200 deaths each day," states Matt Hirsch, President of Transformations Drug & Alcohol Treatment Center. "We see Ryan as part of the solution. We invited Ryan to our facility to inspire our current and former clients with his personal message of hope and recovery—while allowing us to glean insight into how Transformations can continually adapt solutions for our Florida community and nation."

A former White House staffer, Hampton has spent the past three years in recovery from a decade-long opioid addiction. He is now a prominent, leading face and voice of addiction recovery and is changing the national dialogue about addiction. He was part of the core team that released the first-ever U.S. Surgeon General's report on addiction.

With social media content reaching more than 1 million people a week, Hampton breaks down cultural barriers that have kept people suffering in silence and is inspiring a digital revolution of people recovering out loud through his #VoicesProject. He was singled out by Forbes as a top social media entrepreneur in the recovery movement. He's advocating for solutions and holding public policy makers accountable. His interviews have appeared on NPR and HLN, and in Forbes, Slate, the Wall Street Journal, and others.
