Breakfast included

WASHINGTON, Aug. 30, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ --

WHO: National Center on Sexual Exploitation (NCOSE), Washington College, and The U.S. Institute Against Human Trafficking

EVENT: Out of the Shadows: Addressing the Sexual Exploitation of Boys and Men

WHEN: Thursday, September 7, 2017, 9:00am10:00am

WHERE: National Press Club, 529 14th St NW, Washington, DC 20045

WHY: This is the historic first press conference in Washington D.C. solely dedicated to addressing the web of sexual exploitation harming boys and men.

For too long, male sexual exploitation victims have been overlooked. Politicians, NGOs, and society at large have all failed to adequately address the experiences of boys and men involving sex trafficking, prostitution, sexual objectification, or early childhood exposure to pornography. As a result, countless men and boys suffer in silence without receiving the appropriate services for recovery.

This press event serves to shed a light on the victimization of boys and men, in order to bring these problems out of the shadows. Experts, academics, and direct service providers will speak out about the unseen crisis of male exploitation.

The complex web of sexual exploitation cannot be dismantled until every survivor has a voice.

This press conference will be followed by a symposium event on September 8, 2017 from 9am2:30pm. It will be held at the Miracle Theater, 535 8th St SE, Washington, D.C.
