MILAN, Italy, Nov. 24, 2016 /PRNewswire/ - Exact Imaging (www.exactimaging.com), the world's leader in high resolution micro-ultrasound systems enabling real-time imaging and biopsy guidance of the prostate, will have its ExactVu™ micro-ultrasound featured prominently in both the clinical talks and the scientific posters at the 5th Meeting of the EAU Section of Urological Imaging (ESUI) in Milan, Italy. The ESUI, which brings together leading urological imagers from across Europe, is being held on November 24, 2016 at the MiCo – Milano Congressi in Milan, Italy and is addressing the theme of "imaging and shifting paradigms in urology".

Exact Imaging's ExactVu micro-ultrasound technology is being profiled in 2 clinical talks:

  • Dr. Jochen Walz, Chair of the ESUI and Head of Urology, Institut Paoli-Calmettes Cancer Centre, Marseille, France will speak on "High Frequency Micro-Ultrasound', (11:50 am - 12:00 pm)
  • Dr. Sangeet Ghai, Director, Biopsy Centre and Lead GU Radiologist, Princess Margaret Cancer Center, Toronto, Canada will be presenting "Using patient screening data and machine learning algorithms to improve PRI-MUS™ accuracy with micro-ultrasound-based prostate biopsies", (2:30 - 2:40 pm)

In addition, recent clinical findings with the ExactVu micro-ultrasound are also being presented as scientific posters at ESUI:

  • (EP166) Poster 1: "Micro-ultrasound of the prostate, PRI-MUS™ protocol guidance along with clinical variables: Combined approach for reducing unnecessary biopsies"
  • (EP168) Poster 2: "Promising initial results of semi-automated quantitative-ultrasound-based algorithm for assessment of prostate cancer using a novel 29 MHz micro-ultrasound"

As the ExactVu micro-ultrasound has recently received CE marking (Certificate #649960) enabling sales of the system in Europe, it will also be on display in Booth #11 in the Exhibit Hall at ESUI.
