SACRAMENTO, Calif., Feb. 5, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Eskaton, a non-profit community-based organization serving seniors
"One area that needs education is around Activities of Daily Living, also known as ADLs," said Dr. Teri Tift, executive director of quality and compliance for Eskaton. "ADLs are routine tasks people do on a daily basis. For many people, ADLs become more difficult with age, but it does not mean that everyone will require assistance as they grow older."
The six most common ADLs are bathing, toileting, dressing, eating, personal hygiene and mobility. "As an adult child, it may be difficult to imagine helping a parent on and off the toilet," explains Tift. "The good news is there are so many resources available to help families in these types of situations."
