ITHACA, N.Y., Feb. 15 Senator Chuck Schumer plans a visit Monday, February 15th to Ithaca, NY to discuss the tax cut proposal that Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) and Senator Schumer proposed to stimulate job growth. Dr. Scott Noren, U.S. Senate Candidate from Ithaca, NY feels that this proposal 1) is falling apart due to Senator Harry Reid cutting many parts of the proposal out and less than full funding, and 2) is another example of national debt-producing and inflationary stimulus spending that will be temporary in nature.

Dr. Noren feels that initiatives that do not cost any taxpayer dollars will be long-lasting and "National Debt-friendly." He thinks this tax cut proposal is a good start but that Schumer is not behind the real reforms we need to help grow business and get jobs back more permanently. He further explains by example. Senator Schumer is the #1 Insurance Lobby Money recipient in the entire U.S. Senate. Dr. Noren adds that "this precludes him from proposing a national cap on monthly health insurance premiums which would save billions for individuals and business but would ruin his Lobby-money train."

Dr. Noren learned that Senator Hatch, per the Wall Street Journal, may vote against this proposal now. "There are no champions for the public in the Senate in any real meaningful way because it is getting lost in bipartisan jabs from both sides. The only winners in this whole arena are the lobbyists."

Dr. Noren, an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon is running against Kirsten Gillibrand, the Governor Patterson appointee. He also points out that "Ms. Gillibrand is the #1 recipient of Commercial Banking lobby money in both House and Senate combined," per Opensecrets.org, a government watchdog group.
