LOS ANGELES, June 18, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Howard Healthcare Academy recently made its debut in San Diego and is on the fast track to becoming one of the most in-demand dental assistant training schools in Southern California, according to Dr. Kami Hoss, founder of The Super Dentists.
Hoss held an open house for Howard Academy on June 2, during which a $10,000 scholarship drawing was held. Courses were also offered at 50% off for those who signed up that day. In addition, new students had the opportunity to engage in a meet-and-greet with educators, tour the facility, and even take free cardiopulmonary resuscitation classes.
Because the turnout at the open house was superb, Hoss said he wished to congratulate once again those who had won the scholarship.
The dental assistant academy was born out of the need for more highly trained dental assisting professionals. Hoss, an orthodontics and pediatric dentistry leader for over 21 years, said there was a disconnect between what students were learning in school and what they needed to know in the real-world dental office setting, so he decided to transform the educational experience for them.
According to Hoss, the majority of faculty and staff at the academy are practicing dental assistants, dentists, and orthodontists who are certified and trained. However, most importantly, they possess a passion for the field and for educating and inspiring tomorrow's dental assistants.
The courses that students can take include front office training, radiation safety, infection control, and dental billing and coding. Because Howard Academy is partnered with The Super Dentists, the educational facility focuses on providing the hands-on, live experiences they need to excel in dental assisting roles.
Kami Hoss over the course of his career has treated over 10,000 patients. He is known not only for his top-level dental experience but also for his efforts to make dental care accessible.
