He is currently a member of the HIMSS Innovation Committee and is the founder and former Chair of the HIMSS Clinical Information Systems Benefits Task Force.

Mr. Thompson earned his Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from Columbia University's Business School and his Bachelor of Science in General Business from Brigham Young University.
