"Women living with diabetes need peer support as much as ever. We provide that support safely through online methods, especially with the uncertainty the COVID-19 pandemic poses throughout the US and around the globe," said Anna Norton, MS, CEO of DiabetesSisters. "Our Board of Directors agrees this is a safe course of action, and we continue to monitor the situation and update our policies as necessary."

People living with any type of diabetes have been identified as a group that may face higher risks of complications when dealing with COVID-19. For the health and safety of its volunteer leaders, group members, faculty, and staff, DiabetesSisters is following recommendations from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

About the PODS Meetup Program: Since 2010, the PODS (Part of DiabetesSisters) Meetup Program has offered monthly support to women living with any type of diabetes or prediabetes, providing a safe and non-judgmental place to discuss the successes and challenges of living with diabetes.
