The popular educational program highlights information about diabetes, and combating the condition.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., May 10, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ --áRenowned Actor Laurence Fishburne

hosts an upcoming episode of "Information Matrix" that discusses diabetes. The episode will highlight how to raise awareness about the disease and touch upon prevention measures.

Diabetes mellitus is the official name of a group of diseases that cause high levels of blood glucose (sugar). This typically stems from problems with insulin production and how your body uses insulin. Approximately 25.8 million people in the United States--8.3% of the population--have diabetes. There are two types of diabetes. Type 1 strikes children and young adults when the body fails to produce insulin. Type 2 occurs when your body stops using insulin properly, causing the pancreas to overproduce it. Over time, the pancreas eventually cannot keep up with the body's needs, increasing glucose levels in the blood and starving cells of energy. About 95% of cases are Type 2 diabetes.

The good news is that everyone can reduce their chances of getting type 2 diabetes by developing a healthy lifestyle. Eating a healthy diet, staying physically activity and keeping weight under control can virtually eliminate the risk of developing diabetes. The program will feature medical professionals who can speak to both the management protocols and lifestyle changes that have attributed to curbing diabetes.

"Information Matrix" TV reviews all content prior to release, and is an educational program designed to discuss important topics from around the globe. It is supported by award-winning production and development teams.
